Degree certificates and diplomas are used to demonstrate an award, course of study or qualification. Translator London can review requests for certified translations of academic awards, preserving institution names, qualification wording, issue dates and other official details for the intended recipient.

A degree certificate may be requested alongside a transcript, diploma supplement or grading scale. Keep the original qualification title and issuing institution identifiable rather than assigning a UK degree equivalence. See academic transcript translation for supporting records.
See academic translation for associated document translation services.
An award certificate may identify the university, qualification level, field of study, holder’s name, classification, graduation date, issue date and official seals. These elements should be translated faithfully while retaining the source’s meaning. An abbreviation or qualification title should not be silently converted into a different educational system’s award.
Universities, employers, professional regulators and credential assessors may ask for documents in a particular format. Some institutions also require the full academic transcript, a diploma supplement or an official copy issued directly by the university. Check whether the translation must be certified, or whether additional authentication or a local approved translator is required.
Degree certificates can include signatures, watermarks, awards in Latin or another language, seals and notes. A complete translation should identify relevant text without pretending to reproduce the issuer’s security features. If a certificate is faded or contains handwritten amendments, provide a clear scan and explain anything difficult to read rather than guessing.
Provide the complete certificate, source and target languages, the receiving organisation and any formatting instructions. Let us know if you also need a transcript or supporting letter translated. Translation does not determine the UK equivalence of a foreign degree; that assessment belongs to the relevant qualification recognition service.
Provide the source file, source and target languages, receiving institution’s instructions and any required deadline. We will review the translation scope before proceeding.
