Court orders and judgments record legally important decisions, directions or findings. A translation must preserve the source meaning and distinguish the court’s operative terms from background narrative, so that the recipient can understand what the original document actually states.

For court orders, provide the complete decision and any schedules that define parties, deadlines or obligations. Confirm the receiving court’s declaration and certification rules. For wider case bundles and legal terminology, see legal translation.

A court record can include judgments, orders, decrees, schedules, annotations, party details, case references and seals. If several pages are linked, the translation scope must clearly identify which documents and annexes are included. Provide the complete order or the exact set of pages requested by the solicitor or receiving court.
Commands, deadlines, obligations, conditions and exceptions may carry different legal meanings. The translator should not replace an unfamiliar legal concept with a seemingly similar rule from another jurisdiction without context. Party names, dates, case references and judicial titles require consistent treatment. A translated order does not provide legal advice or alter the legal effect of the original.
Courts and overseas authorities may require a certified translation, a particular written declaration, a sworn translator in another jurisdiction, notarisation or further legalisation. There is no universal format accepted everywhere. Confirm the exact instructions and whether the translated record must be paired with the original before placing an order.
Share the full legible source, language direction, intended country or court, deadline and any special instructions. If the document is confidential, make sure the correct authority has approved sharing it for translation. If only an excerpt is requested, clarify that the recipient accepts an excerpt rather than a full translation.
Provide the source file, source and target languages, receiving institution’s instructions and any required deadline. We will review the translation scope before proceeding.
