Types of employment documents
Requests may include employer confirmation letters, salary certificates, payslips, reference letters, job titles, appointment letters and HR…
Employment letters and payslips can be used to explain an individual’s job, salary or employment history to an organisation in another language. Translator London can review translation requests involving employment records, with attention to names, dates, employer details and figures.

Keep pay periods, deductions, reference codes, employer names and currency amounts consistent with the source. A translated payslip does not verify employment, and visa or financial applications may require a separate letter. See visa document translation for related submission considerations.

Requests may include employer confirmation letters, salary certificates, payslips, reference letters, job titles, appointment letters and HR correspondence. These records often identify an employer, employee, position, salary period and official contact details. State whether the receiving party needs the letter itself, supporting payroll evidence or both.
Translate the record as issued. Salary amounts, deductions, allowances, tax codes, currencies, payroll periods and dates must remain consistent with the original. Where a term is specific to a national payroll system, the translation should preserve its meaning without assuming a UK-equivalent deduction or benefit. Tables and signature details should be easy to compare with the source.
Employment records may be used for immigration, financial, professional or academic purposes. Certification rules vary by the application and recipient. A translated payslip does not authenticate the payment or replace an independently issued employer letter when that is required. Review the receiving organisation’s instructions before deciding which documents to translate.
Send legible complete files, the language pair, employment-record period, intended recipient, required turnaround and any requested certification statement. If several payslips are involved, indicate the exact months and pages so the scope can be reviewed and quoted accurately.
Provide the source file, source and target languages, receiving institution’s instructions and any required deadline. We will review the translation scope before proceeding.
